Hybrid and online events

Live translation in Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex, without a bot

At an online event the voices are already inside the producer’s computer. No cable, no booth and no integration to authorise.

The problem in an online meeting

How it works in practice

  1. It listens to the computer’s own audio

The capture cannot tell which application made the sound, so no integration is needed.

  2. Or sums in the room microphone

Both into one channel, which is what makes hybrid work on the entry plan.

  3. The link goes in the meeting chat

Attendees open it and pick a language.

  4. And on the room screen, if there is one

Over NDI, over HDMI, or on any TV with a browser.

Frequently asked questions

Do attendees still hear the meeting normally?

Yes. The capture mutes nothing: the operator keeps hearing the meeting they are captioning.

Does it work on Mac?

Yes. On Mac the system asks once for screen-recording permission and the app needs a restart; after that it behaves exactly as on Windows.

Do I have to pick a specific window?

No. Going on air must not depend on finding a window in a grid, so there is no picker.

What about captions inside Zoom?

They can be pushed to Zoom’s native caption bar if the host supplies the token. It is an extra for whoever asks, not the main path: the audience’s phones fit 12 languages at once, from a catalogue of 58, each person choosing their own.
