Live translation in Microsoft Teams, with no bot in the meeting
SCAPTION does not join the meeting: it listens to the audio already playing on the organiser’s computer. No integration for IT to authorise and no unknown guest in the participant list.

What does captioning a meeting without a bot mean?
That nothing and nobody joins the call. SCAPTION runs on the organiser’s computer and listens to the audio that computer is already playing: the same signal the attendees hear. With no application installed inside the platform, there is no integration to authorise, no permission to clear with IT, and no extra participant in the list.
What usually goes unsolved in a multilingual meeting
- They carry whichever language the organiser configured.
- Installing a tool inside the platform goes through IT, and that takes longer than the event.
- And if the event is hybrid, the people in the room see nothing.
- When it ends there is a recording, not minutes with decisions and action items.
How it is set up
Open SCAPTION on the same computer you follow the meeting from
No second machine and no second connection.
Pick "this computer’s audio" as the source
One system permission the first time and nothing else. You keep hearing the meeting.
Paste the room link into the chat
Each attendee opens it in a browser and picks a language, up to 12 at once from a catalogue of 58.
If some people are in a room
The same session goes out over NDI or HDMI, and those in the room read on their phones.
When it ends, ask for the minutes
Decisions, action items with an owner and a due date, in whichever language you choose.
What each attendee gets
Whichever language they choose
And they can change it during the meeting as often as they like.
Text or voice
The browser can read the translation aloud through their own earphones.
Questions and votes
From the same link, without leaving the meeting.
Nothing to install
No app, no account, and no sign-off from IT.
Where it shows
There is no integration to manage
The mechanism is the computer’s audio, not an app installed inside the platform.
It works the same for Zoom, Meet and Webex
The capture cannot tell which application made the sound: every platform is the same case.
It covers the whole hybrid event
The people on the call and the people in the room, from one session.
The audience picks the language, not the host
And there is no per-language or per-attendee charge.
Event Pro
Translation into all 58 catalogue languages. The computer’s audio arrives on one channel, so a single microphone covers a meeting.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need my Teams administrator’s permission?
No. SCAPTION is not installed into Teams and does not join the meeting: it runs on your computer and listens to its audio.
Is it legal to capture a meeting this way?
SCAPTION does not record audio: it transcribes on the fly, and the live path stores no text. Even so, telling attendees that the meeting is being captioned and translated is the right thing to do, and in many cases required.
How many languages at once?
Up to 12 reading languages at a time, from a catalogue of 58, and each attendee picks their own on their own phone.
Does it work on macOS?
Yes. On a Mac the system asks once for screen-recording permission, the app restarts, and system audio flows normally.
