This EULA governs your use of the SCAPTION Desktop application (the "Software") — separately from the Terms of Service, which govern our hosted backend and website. This document is pending final legal review before commercial launch; contact [email protected] with any questions in the meantime.
Subject to your account entitlement (Free Trial, Event Pass, AV Production, or PRO), SCAPTION grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the Software on Windows machines you control, for live captioning and translation at events you operate.
The Software bundles a redistributable runtime component of the NDI® SDK (the "NDI Runtime"), licensed to SCAPTION by Vizrt NDI AB and included here under the terms of the NDI SDK License Agreement. By installing the Software, you additionally agree to the following terms, which flow down from that agreement:
Except as applicable law expressly permits, you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software; sublicense, rent, or lease it to a third party; or use it to build a competing captioning or translation product.
We may release updates to the Software, including newer versions of the bundled NDI Runtime, to keep it current with Vizrt NDI AB's releases. Continuing to use the Software after an update constitutes acceptance of that update.
The Software is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, SCAPTION disclaims all warranties beyond those set out in your order or plan, and liability is limited as described in our Terms of Service.
This license ends automatically if you violate Section 2 or 3 above, or if your SCAPTION account entitlement lapses. On termination, uninstall the Software and stop using the bundled NDI Runtime.
